The Ides of March 2025

April 15, 2025  ·  Travis Hancock

We have it on good authority that the friar from Bristol was buddies with the real Saint Patrick. Don't get pinched today!

Found in the wild.

In honor of the recent Pi Day, here are some Salem-inspired pies made by a member of our Facade community! The pies are real, but we used some AI magic to stick them on a colonial table. We're trying to embrace (rather than existentially fear) AI, and find ways to create even cooler games and content with it. The future is wild!

What we're working on.

This month we finalized the rules for our next party game! Each player will be a gazelle, playing cards to try and escape from 4 predators of the savanna: The Cheetah (be faster than the slowest gazelle!), The Crocodile (don't drink too long at the watering hole!), The Hyena (stay with the herd!), and The Python (don't move a muscle)! Like Trophies and Parkade, the game has a high player count and is quick to explain and play. We're very excited about it! We're hoping to have some progress on the design to show you in the next Ides or two.

The coolest thing we saw this month.

This month we found a castle! A local WWI vet (and student of medieval architecture) built this beauty by hand from 1927-1981, mostly with stones pulled from the river. It made us want to explore Europe again, and perhaps pull some inspiration for a castle-centered Dark Cities game in the future. Stay tuned!
